During the study of journalism and communication science (with main focus optical media) at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland (Europe) I began my artistic, playful expression.

In the beginning I experimented with video and B&W photography. Photography is still one of my passions.

Today I work with paint brush spatula brush cloth sponge… and use color / cement / plaster / glue / fabric / paper / materials from nature (sand, earth, wood…).

My paintings are abstract, wide, some very colorful, sometimes spartan black-and-white, partly very scarcely with few tones. Some can be hung in pairs which increases the effect mutually.

The color spot, its change as a decorative and interactive element between the spectator, its space and personal tensions show the basic concept of my graphic work.

My creations are a fusion of art and interior decoration.

Some of my paintings can be put together creatively any way you like, or you can move and turn them around. Thus different mood effects can be reached, so that everybody can read the signs, the strength of the picture in its WAY. It can bring these signs with his thoughts, feelings and images in respect and get thereby new from the depth of his own soul.

I also offer to create non-figurative paintings in order and consider sensitively the taste as well as the interior of the buyer. I create decorative blotchy motives where the character of the space sensually emphasizes or creates a different atmosphere, and I paint directly on the wall (art in the construction).

Love Room Fribourg

My work is done with the intention of making a connection; energy exchange between objects, spaces and people is of interest to me. How people relate to themselves, to others, to the world and everything art related. Art should not only be looked at, one should live with it. Art should be nutrition and be stimulante, a source point of social life.

Abstract painting and personalised decoration. -Text from Anita Petrovski, June, 2001

The colour spot, its change as a decorative and interactive element between the spectator, its space and personal tensions show the basic concept of the visual work of MaRia.
She comes up to not figurative pictures on order to create and considers sensitively the taste as well as the interior of the buyer. She shows decorative blotchy motives as well as coloured surfaces which several sensory joy wake and emphasise the expression of the living space.
On the other hand the different forms and colours are a direct connection with the pieces of furniture and carpets, as an extension of this.

Her work is applied art and interior decoration. MaRia is in close dialogue: Buyer’s surroundings.

Due to their immense size they connect with the architectural space in a dynamic relation; They act in the interplay between opening and penetration of light. As a free wall decoration different mood effects can be achieved, depeneding on your mood, lighting or season.

These paintings grant a choice of playful sensations between the open and the closed, the in colour liveliness and the elegance of the night. They offer rich cultural parallels, remind of the creativity of Marc Rothko or ethnographic fabrics.

The images of MaRia find, in spite of her demanding character, a natural place in everyday life.
